Over at Tricks of the Trade, today’s tip is for Philosophers:
How to win any argument:
1. Take the position that the truth of the matter is unknowable;
2. Make your opponent define his position concisely;
3. Ask your opponent questions until he is forced to admit there are unknown variables
While reading, it struck me that this is the exact same technique that Intelligent Design proponents use every day. Silly, isn’t it?

That is a great argument and so true. I use that technique often and I didn’t even know it was already a recognized part of something. That’s pretty cool.
