It's time for the Friday Five!
1. Do you like talking on the phone? Why or why not?
I'm not a huge fan of it. I do most of my correspondence through email or IM nowadays - it's usually more convenient. Still, if you really want to talk to someone (especially if you're in a relationship with that someone) the phone is the next best thing to being there. Much of my humor (see: sarcasm) doesn't always translate well over IM, without profuse use of smileys. And I HATE SMILEYS!!!
2. Who is the last person you talked to on the phone?
My mother, who called to inform me that she'll be home shortly. (I'm chillin' at home over spring break at the moment).
3. About how many telephones do you have at home?
Well, at school, which I consider my home, We only have one. Believe me, with as small as our apartment is, that's plenty.
4. Have you encountered anyone who has really bad phone manners? What happened?
Yeah, i hate it when people call you and start making small talk, like they're looking for a fun conversation, then, just as I drop what I'm doing, and settle in, they jump to the point of the call and hang up quickly. Sounds strange, i guess. Maybe it's because I'm really just thinking of one girl in particular...
5. Would you rather pick up the phone and call someone or write them an e-mail or a letter? Why or why not?
It all depends. I'm mostly an email-type guy. I'm much more articulate when i express myself in writing. Another big plus is that I can read what i wrote BEFORE i send it.
In a live conversation, I have an annoying tendency to bypass that mental filter that screens out really inappropriate stuff. It doesn't happen that often, but often enough that I wish life had a rewind button.
