Ozark Trail

March 2004

Over our spring break, Scott, Andrew, and I backpacked on the Ozark trail from Tom Sauk Mountain to Johnson Shut-ins and back. We did the 25 miles or so in two nights, but our hike out on the last day was only about two miles. Here are the good pictures, mostly from the second day (because the weather wasn't cooperative on Day 1).

Why, yes. That is my goofy camping hat.

1st night's camp. Scott slept in the homebrew shelter.

A small fire - it was cold.

Squeezable Jelly: best invention ever.

You can see the earthen walls of the reservoir on top of that mountain.

Scott posing in the power cut.  The blue sky beat the hell out of the sleet we hiked through the day before.

On the trail

An old oven or kiln

We took the low road back, staying by the stream

We camped by this stream on the second night. It's not too far from Devil's Tollgate
